The LuLaRoe Cici is a flounce dress that is ready for fun in the sun! It has an elastic neckline with a ruffle at the top, fitted down the body, and a fun ruffle at the bottom. This is an honest review from someone that’s short and plus size – relax, this dress is great for all sizes and shapes!
When I first saw the gorgeous models in this great dress, I thought – love it, but not for my body type. Breaking news – I’m not tall and lean! But I ordered some for my boutique and tried on several sizes from Medium to Extra Large and they all fit!
According to the size chart above, I’d be a Large, but I decided to try one size smaller (the material is stretchy) and one size larger because I loved the print. In the picture below, the black with polka dots dress is a Medium, the crushed velvet leopard print is a Large, and the orange and blue flowered print is an Extra Large. As you can see, they all fit, so choose your favorite print!
The dresses above are not only 3 different sizes, they’re also 3 different materials. The most common fabric is Liverpool. If you have an Amelia dress, it’s similar to that material. Liverpool is 95% polyester and 5% spandex with a lot of stretch and a crepe like texture with a spongy feel.
The LuLaRoe Cici dress also comes in a crushed velvet material! That’s what the animal print one above is made from. It’s so soft and amazing. It’s not as stretchy as the liverpool or waffle knit though.
The waffle knit material is by far the stretchiest of the Cici fabrics. This material is commonly found on the LuLaRoe Cassie pencil skirt where it has a bulleted texture and allows you to move so easily.
Another fabric for the Cici is a slinky, silky feeling material called ITY (Interlock Twist Yarn). While it’s super soft and comfortable, if you have any lumps or bumps you’d rather not display, then you might want to stay away from this fabric unless there’s a print. On a solid color, it lays so pretty, but not my preference because I want to camouflage my love handles.
The Cici fabrics don’t wrinkle easily and they hold their shape. So it’s perfect for packing this dress on your next vacation or weekend getaway!
How to Wear Cici
The elastic at the top of the flounce dress and ruffle makes it so versatile. Below is a photo showing you some options. Wear it up on both shoulders if the wind picks up a little bit or you’re in church. When you’re ready for a little fun, drop it down off the shoulder and it stays up easily. You can even pull one arm out and wear it over one shoulder and diagonal across your chest. Or at the beach? Pull both arms out and wear it sleeveless.
But the ultimate surprise is notice in the third picture above – you don’t have to wear it as a dress at all! Because it’s so stretchy and versatile, pull it up (put the extra material under the top ruffle and no one will ever notice!). It makes the cutest tunic with a ruffle at the top and bottom pulled over a pair of leggings, capris, jeans, or shorts.
I think LuLaRoe has heard from enough people that we need more solid colors, not always the fun prints. Well Cici delivers both – prints and solids. Depending on the occasion though, you’ll want to dress up the solid with some accessories – belts, necklaces, shoes, etc. I’ve also seen some people add a Cassie skirt over their Cici dress to add a splash of color to a solid Cici. I personally think I’d be too warm to wear it that way, but maybe if I want to take this fun dress into the fall when it gets cooler. I’ve seen a lot of fun summer prints that look great on any size. Nothing overpowering, just simple and yet a touch of elegance. This is a dress I think you should go bold with – it’s summer and you’re having fun!
Don’t be scared of wearing the LuLaRoe Cici dress regardless of your shape or size. There are so many different looks from one dress and have fun with it! Accessorize, take it on vacation, to the beach, wedding reception, and all your summer parties! If you’d like to see the Cici’s that I currently have in stock, visit my Facebook group here.
